Detailed description of the Good Practice

The awareness amongst city planners of the benefits of considering the health of the people of the city in the developments of plans is very strong. There is concrete evidence of healthy urban planning prac-tices in the city.

1.Representation from the City Planning Depart-ment on Healthy Cities Steering Committee
Urban Planner has been member of HC Steering Committee for about 1994
Urban Planners have a great understanding of the impacts of urban spatial planning on life quality and health of citizens


2. Application of healthy urban planning in HA and HIA (physical activity, noise redevelopment planning)
Urban Planner has been member of both working groups, HA and HIA
Juli 2006
Identifying with Planner two initiatives (HA, HIA) to which the HUP principles could be applied


3. Evidence of efforts to introduce HUP practices as part of mainstream processes
The Integrated City Development Plan (INSEK) is to be viewed as an implementation oriented planning concept
