Subsidies for ecological choices

Gdynia

Detailed description of the Good Practice

Gdynia developed a system of grading desirable energy sources and introduced this in the city. Citizens who replace a less ecological energy source bya low-emission or non-emission one will receive a subsidy. Also solar-collectors and heta pumps are co-financed. Gdynia is promoted as the "sunny capital of Poland" due to its good conditions for using renewable energy sources.
Citizens are also supported financially in replacing asbestos containing material in their homes. Its the city´s ambition to remove asbestos from gdynia long before the year 2032, which is the deadline for removing asbestos in Poland.
99% of the properties in Gdynia are connected to the municipal sanitary sewage. the remaining 1% should also be connected, the city grants subsidies for this as well.
