Detailed description of the Good Practice
+umwelt.plus.karte is a discount card which can be used when buying ecological products, services and tickets to cultural events. The card is valid in 46 companies in the city of Heidelberg, including a great variety of branches (e.g. grocery stores, laundries, carpenters…), and the spectrum of choices is getting more and more extensive. Its purpose is to make ecological products and services more attractive to consumers.
The developer of the card is an association called Weitergeben e.V. which consists of regional enterprises and organizations from environmental and social branches. The card was developed in a project of the Local Agenda Heidelberg in which Weiterwesen e.V. co-operated with the Institute of Ecological Economics (Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung, IÖW) and with the Agenda Bureau of the City of Heidelberg.
